Why Genie Understands This World
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Genie Davidson served as a Behavioral Scientist in the United States Army, including with the 82nd Airborne Division. She has also lived and worked within Northwest Arkansas's corporate world for decades, not just as a therapist, but from the inside. She understands these environments with a depth that goes beyond clinical training. Using S.A.F.E. EMDR and depth-focused therapy, she helps clients trace what's happening at work back to where it actually started and heal it there.

Meet Genie Davidson, MS, LPC
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist has been anything but straightforward, and I think that's exactly why this work fits me so well.
Trauma has been a constant companion in my life since a very young age, and it has been a relentless teacher. It forced me to confront myself, to rebuild myself from the ground up, and to find my way through pain that I couldn't always name. I am, in the truest sense, a wounded healer. I don't sit across from you with a clipboard and clinical distance. I sit across from you as someone who knows what it is to suffer and to find a way through.
It was during my own healing journey that I discovered EMDR, and dove deeply into my trauma. That experience changed everything. Inspired by what became possible for me, I felt called to help others navigate the complexities of their lives, not by skimming the surface, but by going to the heart of things.
I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from John Brown University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas. My approach is holistic and whole-person, drawing on S.A.F.E. EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Parts Work, and Art Therapy. I work with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, narcissistic abuse, anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, depression, grief, and the particular pressures that come with high-demand careers and corporate life.
I have lived in Australia, Guam, and across the United States, and have called Northwest Arkansas home since 1998. When I'm not in session, you'll find me hiking the NWA trails, reading, writing, traveling, and with Timmie, my rescue dog and therapy assistant, who brings emotional regulation to every session.
